A Poem in Your Pocket Writing Group

April is National Poetry Month. What a perfect time to launch a new monthly series of Sunrise Project Writing Groups led by Iris Craver!

Let’s create something as necessary as bread. Let’s sit together and create some poems for your pocket. Afterward, you will have at least one poem in your pocket for National Poem in Your Pocket Day which is April 27th.

"For poems are not words, after all, but fires for the cold, ropes let down to the lost, something as necessary as bread in the pockets of the hungry." - Mary Oliver

You do NOT need to consider yourself a writer to join in this experience.

The workshop will be offered at Sunrise Project. Space is limited to 12 participants.

Suggested donation is $0-$20, but donations are not required!

We will meet from 6-8 pm on Thursday, April 27, 2023

“I lead expressive writing groups in a variety of settings ranging from the county jail to the city library. I completed national certification as a journaling and poetry therapist because I am hooked on the idea that the more we engage in the process of creative writing, the more creative we become in all aspects of our lives. I live just off the banks of the Kaw and am grateful for all of the surprises that life has given me!” Iris Craver
