Community Garden & Orchard
Our Community Garden & Orchard are spaces of healing, joy, and fun. All are welcome to come explore, anytime from dawn until dusk.

Sunrise Project Community Garden
Our Sunrise Project Community Garden is for everyone! You're invited to join us throughout the growing season (Spring - Fall) and help us tend to the garden. We regularly need volunteers to assist with weeding, watering, planting, and harvesting!
Sunrise Project Community Garden was co-sponsored by the Wakarusa group of the Sierra Club. In 2019, thanks to funding by Sprouts Community Foundation, we launched our accessibility beds! Four wheelchair and sitter-friendly beds were built so that people of all physical abilities can access, work in and harvest from the garden.

Lawrence Community Orchard
Founded by Lawrence Fruit Tree Project
Lawrence Community Orchard was founded in 2012 by Lawrence Fruit Tree Project as a community-based solution to solve the lack of access to locally-grown, free, healthy food. Through this program, we educate, assist, and inspire the public to plant, steward, and use perennial food plants. Together, we are building community, increasing local food security, and creating connections between people and their urban environment.
Lawrence Community Orchard was made possible through the City of Lawrence urban agriculture land leasing program, Common Ground.
Currently, we have over 100 individual productive woody plants from about 30 species. Come visit today!
You can find Lawrence Community Orchard at:
830 Garfield St. Lawrence, Kansas 66044.
