About the Event

Join us for this 2-part series on Sept. 11, 1:00 - 3:00 AND Oct. 2, 1:00 - 3:00!  RSVP required: bit.ly/AYVteen

Through the use of interactive activities, conversation and reflection young people will explore the social issues that impact themselves, their family/friends, schools and/or communities.  No voice should ever go unheard and everyone's voice matters.  Youth will enhance their leadership skills, learn the power of their voice and by the end of the 2 day session have a plan (and support) to engage in social justice. Each participant will earn a $20 stipend at the end of each session! Ages 13+ Masks are required to be worn for the entirety of each session.

About the Facilitator

Crystal Rozelle-Bennett, LMSW once felt that her voice was too small and she didn't matter.  On a mission to be heard and make a difference, Crystal sought out the tools needed to build a better version of herself and bring others alongside in order to bring change to her community.  By the time she was 16, Crystal was the founder of her high school Teen AIDS Task Force, was a fierce advocate for Amnesty International and spoke to hundreds of community members in the county's Take Back the Night Sexual Assault Rally.  Her fight and volunteerism resulted in several college scholarships, which assisted her to become the first in her family to go to college.  Throughout college and well into adulthood, Crystal has continued to use her voice and work to amplify the voices of those around her to dismantle oppressive systems and take action towards freedom and justice for all.
